Chandrakant Pokale was a professor of Kannada at Jr. College, Bedkihal District in Belgaum, where he also eventually became the Principal. His service to the college lasted for 35 years, across which he published many translations from Marathi to Kannada. He has been the recipient of several awards, including both state and national Sahitya Akademi awards. Furthermore, he worked as a member of Anuwad Academy, a part of the Karnataka Government, for 3 years. Pokale retired in 2007 and continues his translation work to this day.
