Kunzang Choden is the first Bhutanese woman writer, a publisher of books for children, and is the curator for the Ogyen Choling Museum, Bhutan. Her first novel is “The Circle of Karma” has been translated into several languages. Documenting Bhutanese folklore resulted in the compilation of Folktales of Bhutan, and Bhutanese Tales of the Yeti. Other books by her include, “Chilli and Cheese: Food and Society in Bhutan” and “Dawa: The Story of a Stray Dog in Bhutan”. In recent years she has also written books for children, “Room In Your Heart”, “Aunty Mouse” and others in an effort to bring geographical and cultural context in the stories for the young Bhutanese readers.
