L Subramani

Journalist and author L Subramani works with the Deccan Herald and has written the book Lights Out: A True Story of a Man’s Descent into Blindness (2014). He has extensively written about disability issues, particularly about the need for accessible books, the merits and applications of accessible technology and software testing (for accessibility). He was also a participant in the ‘Right to Read’ campaign that wanted authors and publishers to make their books available in accessible format for the print disabled. Subramani was also a coordinator with Retina India, where he created a support group for those suffering gradual vision loss, an activity that gave him the idea for the book.
