About

Manipal International Literature and Arts Platform (m.i.l.a.p.) is a first-of-its-kind annual literature festival to be hosted in the scenic campus-town of Manipal, Karnataka. m.i.l.a.p. is a premium platform for a gathering and celebration of the arts – literary, performing, visual, and cinematic – in a unique University setting imbued with inclusive atmosphere and cosmopolitan spirit.

What distinguishes m.i.l.a.p. from mainstream literary festivals is the forging of a sustained engagement between rasika and artist in a thoughtful, non-commercial space. The concept itself is borne out of Manipal University’s long-standing efforts to promote appreciation of literature and culture, whether through the prolific publishing activities of Manipal University Press, which recently crossed its hundredth book release, or the dynamic initiatives of the TMA Pai Chair for Indian Literature. The campus setting helps prioritise intensive learnings and dialogues between writers and readers and amongst writers themselves too. m.i.l.a.p. is open free of cost to the local community as well as readers and art lovers from across the country.
