G N Devy, writes in three languages –Marathi, Gujarati and English. He is engaged in three disciplines–Anthropology, Linguistics and Literature. He studied in Maharashtra and England, taught in Gujarat and now lives in Karnataka. Currently, he is Honorary Professor at CMDR, Dharwad and Adjunct Professor at DAIICT, Gujarat and chairman, People’s Linguistic Survey of India. He founded several institutions including the Bhasha Research Centre, the Adivasi academy and the Himlok Cultural Centre. He has received numerous awards and honours including the Padmashri.
